In a notice issued Friday, party’s Whip in the parliament (Constituent Assembly) Shobhakhar Parajuli said the meeting was postponed until another notice but did not mention the reason. According to a source at the party, the meeting was postponed as most of the parliamentarians have their programs outside the capital next week.
According to a leader, the meeting will be held once there is general consensus on the issue of electing PP leader and deputy leader. About two dozen members have been demanding election to both the leaders whereas party president Girija Prasad Koirala has opposed the provision for handpicking the deputy leader by the leader and getting the choice approved by the PP meeting.
