The meeting urged the Maoists to either adopt constitutional method or come for political consensus to meet the demand of government change.
The NC repeated it requests to the Maoists to withdraw the general strike keeping in view the hardship faced by ordinary people and looming shortage of daily essentials.
Organizing a press conference in the evening, NC said it would not compromise with the Maoists at the cost on the achievements of the 2006 movement.
Reading out a press statement, NC General Secretary Bimalendra Nidhi said the Maoists should agree on a work plan with fixed time table for management of their combatants, returning the seized properties, disbanding paramilitary structures of YCL and implement past pacts.
Nidhi accused Maoists of acting irresponsiblly on constitution drafting and peace process. He said the NC is ready to discuss the formation of new government under the Maoist leadership if the latter dissociated with its combatants and transformed itself into a civilian party.
