NC leader Bhandari returning home  on Sunday after treatment

KATHMANDU, April 29: Dr Chandrakant Bhandari, leader of Nepali Congress and member of the House of Representatives, who is undergoing treatment in India, is returning home on Sunday.

KATHMANDU, April 29: Dr Chandrakant Bhandari, leader of Nepali Congress and member of the House of Representatives, who is undergoing treatment in India, is returning home on Sunday.


On the night of February 15, Bhandari was seriously injured due to a fire following a gas leak at his residence in Buddhanagar. Bhandari is returning to home on Sunday after medical treatment.

NC leader Madhav Neupane said that Dr Bhandari, who is being treated at the National Burns Center in Mumbai, India, is going to return home on Sunday afternoon at 2:55 PM by a Nepal Airlines Corporation flight. He will arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport at 5:00 PM.


Dr Bhandari's health has improved lately. He has started talking and walking. After returning to Nepal, Dr Bhandari will have to stay at home and do physiotherapy and go to the hospital to dress the burnt wound.


MP Bhandari and his mother Harikala Bhandari were seriously injured in the fire. Mother Harikala died on February 16 at Kirtipur Hospital during treatment. Dr Bhandari was taken to India by air ambulance for further treatment on the same day.
