KATHMANDU, Dec 1: Nepali Congress (NC) lawmakers have expressed a stern objection to the protest against the constitution amendment bill.
Issuing a press statement on Thursday, 27 lawmakers representing Tarai-Madhes have welcomed the filing of the seven-point amendment proposal which according to them, was brought to address the demands of Madhesis.
They have lamented UML for terming the bill as an act of treason.
“It feels like UML is heading to make the issue more complex by obstructing the Parliament and taking to the streets,” reads the statement, “These activities have send out a message that the party is against elections.”
NC lawmakers Farmullah Mansoor, Mahendra Yadav, Kiran Yadav, Tejulal Chaudhary, Ramchandra Chaudhary, Ganesh Kumar Mandal among others have signed the statement.
