KATHMANDU, Jan 7: Nepali Congress (NC) General Secretary Bishwa Prakash Sharma has claimed that the party has not 'offered' the Prime Ministership to anyone.

After the meeting of the party’s office bearers at the residence of President Sher Bahadur Deuba on Friday, General Minister Sharma claimed that the Congress is not in favor of forming a new coalition and government immediately.

"The Nepali Congress is not asking for the way to the village and is not asking anyone to go ahead," said Sharma, "Congress is not involved in such matters at all."

Rumors of proposing the Prime Minister to someone were told by a friend while drinking tea, but the party did not say anything about it. He insisted that he did not know. But Speaker Deuba has intensified political meetings in recent days.

Chairman of CPN (Unified Socialists) Madhav Kumar Nepal also held a meeting with Deuba only on Friday. Prime Minister Dahal went to his residence in Nepal to meet Deuba when the date for taking the vote of confidence is fast approaching. According to those close to us, in the first meeting that took place after the alliance was broken and a new equation was formed, how to proceed with the new situation was discussed.

At a time when doubts are being expressed that the Dahal-led government will not receive a vote of confidence, Speaker Deuba has initiated a dialogue with the leaders of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) and the Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) himself and through his close associates.

In the meantime, sources close to them claim that various parties and leaders are discussing the possibility of including parties other than the UML and Maoist center, giving a vote of confidence to Dahal and continuing the old alliance led by the Congress, and UML-Congress moving forward together.
