KATHMANDU, April 13: A meeting of the Nepali Congress (NC) Central Working Committee is being held today to discuss the local level election, candidate selection and the party's election manifesto.
The meeting to be held at the party's central office in Lalitpur in the afternoon is scheduled to finalize the manifesto for the local elections. The meeting will also discuss problems seen at the local level to forge alliance between the ruling coalition parties.

In today's meeting, the rival faction within the party will raise questions about the government's performance. The faction led by Dr Shekhar Koirala is also expected to raise the issue of taking action against the governor and demand a new face as finance minister.
Before leaving for the meeting, the leaders affiliated to the Koirala faction will hold a group discussion and prepare issues to be presented in the meeting. Leaders close to the Koirala faction will prepare the agenda to be presented in today's meeting this morning.
Koirala, who has been in favor of coordinating local elections only on the basis of local needs and justifications, has already raised various questions with party president and prime minister Sher Bahadur Deuba.
