NC candidate hands over licensed weapons to police

BARDIBAS, Oct 10: Chiranjivi Hamal, a candidate of the Nepali Congress Constituency No. 1 in Mahottari district for the election to the Constituent Assembly (CA), has handed over his two licensed weapons to police.



According to the Area Police Office, Bardibas, Hamal handed over a 12-bore rifle and a gun.[break]



Hamal said that he handed over the weapons to help hold free and fair CA election as per the request of the District Police Office.



Chief of the Office and Deputy Superintendent of Police, Tulsi Prasad Adhikari, said that the licensed weapons would be returned to the concerned people in coordination with the District Administration Office and District Police Office after completion CA election.



The District Police Office, Mahottari, had in August urged those who have kept licensed weapons to hand over them in view of law and order during the election.
