NC calls an emergency CWC meeting

KATHMANDU, August 21: The ruling Nepali Congress (NC) has called an emergency meeting of the party's Central Working Committee (CWC) today.


The meeting is said to pass a condolence resolution over the demise of Pradip Giri, a party central member and member of the House of Representatives. The meeting is scheduled to be held at 10:30 AM at the party central office, Sanepa.

Socialist thinker Giri passed away on Saturday at 9.30 PM while undergoing treatment at Mediciti Hospital in Bhaisepati, Lalitpur. Giri's body will be kept at the Mediciti Hospital premises from 9 AM to 11 AM and at the party’s office from 11:30 AM to 2.00 PM today, according to NC Chief Secretary Krishna Prasad Paudel. The last rites of Giri will be performed at Pashupati Aryaghat later today.
