KATHMANDU, June 23: Chairman of the CPN (Maoist Center), Pushpa Kamal Dahal has called on the party’s cadres not to have too much hope and relax in the upcoming federal and provincial elections.
Speaking at a program in Lalitpur on Thursday, Dahal said that the party had won fewer seats than expected in the local elections as he had a lot of confidence in the alliance.
“"We should not expect more and stay relaxed due to the coalition like we did in the local elections," Dahal said. He also stressed strengthening the alliance and a need for electoral coordination among the parties in the alliance.
Dahal said that the party should not coordinate with other parties in the upcoming election but should make the Nepali Congress and the CPN-UML join hands with the CPN (Maoist Center). "Congress and UML must be made to join hands with the Maoists," he said.
Furthermore, Dahal said, “Let's prepare to contest alone if there is no alliance.”
