NC, UML lead in 2-2 metropolises for deputy mayor

KATHMANDU, May 16: Nepali Congress (NC) has taken lead in the deputy mayor post of Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) in the first phase of local elections. NC’s Hari Prabha Khadgi has garnered 662 votes, Raja Ram Shrestha of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has 352 votes and Nirupama Yadav of Sajha Party has the least 162 votes.

KATHMANDU, May 16: Nepali Congress (NC) has taken lead in the deputy mayor post of Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) in the first phase of local elections. NC’s Hari Prabha Khadgi has garnered 662 votes, Raja Ram Shrestha of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has 352 votes and Nirupama Yadav of Sajha Party has the least 162 votes.



CPN-UML has taken lead in the Lalitpur Metropolitan City though it has no candidate for the deputy mayor post. Though, CPN-UML lead in the deputy mayor post with 2747 votes, NC has 3246 votes. RPP’s Babu Kaji Pradhan has 1854 votes compared to CPN (Maoist Center)’s Hasina Shakya 1267 votes.



Likewise in the deputy mayor posts in Bharatpur Municipality, NC is slightly ahead of their rivals. NC’s Parbati Shah has 1187 votes and Divya Sharma of CPN-UML has 1108 votes.



It’s a different scenario in Pokhara Lekhnath Municipality. CPN-UML’s Manju Gurung has 1795 votes and Sarswati Gurung of CPN-UML has 1739 votes.
