KATHMANDU, Nov 19: The Nepal Britain Chamber of Commerce & Industry (NBCCI) held an Extraordinary General Body Meeting (EGM) in Kathmandu, where a newly appointed Executive Committee was announced to lead the Chamber for the next three-year term. The gathering brought together representatives from Nepal’s corporate, banking, development, and trade sectors, NBCCI said in a press release.
According to the press release, the meeting was chaired by outgoing President Rajendra K. Khetan, who underscored NBCCI’s renewed focus on strengthening bilateral economic cooperation. He highlighted growing trade and investment opportunities between Nepal and the United Kingdom, especially following the reactivation of the UK Department for Business and Trade in Nepal and the increasing emphasis on fostering commercial partnerships.

A key highlight of the EGM was the conferment of the title of President Emeritus to Mr. Khetan in recognition of his leadership, contributions, and pivotal role in advancing NBCCI’s mission. The General Body expressed its sincere appreciation for his dedicated service, the press release further stated.
The new Executive Committee, unanimously endorsed by the General Body, comprises Dr Roshan Rathi of LCCI Global Qualifications Pvt Ltd as President; Piyush Raj Aryal of Laxmi Sunrise Bank Ltd as Vice President; Bidhyavaridi Sigdel of Dolma Impact Fund as Treasurer; Sarad Banjara of Genese Solutions as General Secretary; Govind Shahi of Unilever Nepal Ltd as Deputy General Secretary; executive members Yemi Karki of Standard Chartered Bank Nepal Ltd, Shiv Prakash Khemka of Mahavir Shree International, and Nilu Basnyat of DAI Global; and the Immediate Past President (Ex-Officio) Rajendra K. Khetan of Laxmi Corp.
