KATHMANDU, July 18: In the last fiscal year, a total of 77 people lost their lives in natural disasters in Koshi Province. The highest death toll was due to floods, according to the Koshi Province Police Office.
Bhim Bahadur Dahal, the spokesperson for the Koshi Province Police, reported that 22 people were killed and 24 were injured in floods across 117 different locations in the province. Additionally, 20 people lost their lives and 134 were injured in wildfires across 1,731 places.

Furthermore, 13 people were killed and 57 injured in wild animal attacks, 13 people lost their lives and 36 were injured due to lightning strikes, and nine were buried with 20 others injured in landslides across 496 locations. In one year, 7,908 cattle heads died in the province as a result of natural disasters.
