National Youth Conference 2018 ends

KATHMANDU, Aug 17: A three-day National Youth Conference concluded in Kathmandu on Tuesday. The event was organized by Nepal Youth Council (NYC) in association with United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and multiple partners. A total of 204 participants attended the conference organized with the theme of ‘Safe Space for Youth’, a statement issued by the organizers said.

KATHMANDU, Aug 17: A three-day National Youth Conference concluded in Kathmandu on Tuesday. The event was organized by Nepal Youth Council (NYC) in association with United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and multiple partners. A total of 204 participants attended the conference organized with the theme of ‘Safe Space for Youth’, a statement issued by the organizers said. “Key leading entrepreneurs and social leaders led brief discussions in the groups to inspire the participants in visualizing their potential roles in transforming Nepal,” they added in the statement. The event included various sessions on SDGs overview and localization, panel discussion on youth in agriculture, tourism and entrepreneurship, youth talk shows on youth and SDGs leadership connection and announcement of awards of seven innovative ideas for the first youth-led action plans. A three-member jury comprising of Hempal Shrestha of Nepal Entrepreneurs Hub, Sneh Rajbhandari of Coca-Cola Nepal, and Rajan Koirala of Merojob.com selected the top seven entrepreneurial ideas contained in the plans of action in line with the criteria developed for selecting the winning ideas. According to the statement,  Coca-Cola is the sole seed funding partner for this exercise.
