KATHMANDU, Sept 21: Nepal has selected its national teams in men and women's category for the Central and South Asian International Handball Federation (IHF) Trophy Handball Tournament taking place in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh.
IHF has been organizing the event every two years, which sees participation by teams from nine countries, Nepal Handball Association President, Tej Gurung said.
Nepal women make winning start in handball
The 14-member women's team includes Nisha Rai, Ramila Basnet, Yasodha Tamrakar, Sangita Shrestha, Taradevi Mahat, Laxmi Rai, Susmita Vaidya, Shila Regmi Chhetri, Ramita Khadka, Akriti Gurung, Babita Shrestha, Pratima Thapa, Ait Lala and Anjana Malla.
The men's team includes Tenjen Lama, Sarun Shrestha, Narendra BC, Ramesh KC, Ashish Adhikari, Sachit Karki, Sandeep Khadka, Chandra KC, Bhuvan Shahi, Sujan Maharjan, Sujan Magar, Matrika Rai, Rajesh Tamang and Sudhanshu Shrestha.
Parbat Gurung and Binda Kumari Maharaji will be coaching the women's team with Prakash Kumar Sunuwar as the team manager while the men's team will be headed by Himal Dahal and Ramesh Sapkota with Bhim Bahadur KC as the team manager. The tournament is taking place in Dhaka from October 9 to 13. RSS
