Farmers are working on their farms from early morning today while the government bodies including National Agriculture Research Center and political parties are observing the Day by planting the seedlings collectively.[break]
The Regional Agricultural Research Center, Tarhara, also marked the day by gathering officials of the district administration office, police chiefs and journalists for paddy seedlings plantation.
The center, so far, has provided 62 different types of improved seeds of paddy to the farmers.
Likewise, the CPN (UML) Sunsari District Committee also marked the National Paddy Day by planting paddy seedlings on the farms of Krishna Kumar Limbu at Itahari-3.
A large number of UML leaders and farmers were present on the occasion where the participants planted the seedlings by sining Asare songs in different rhymes and rhythm.
Similarly, Nepali Congress leaders also attended a collective paddy seedlings plantation programme at Bharaul VDC in the district.
