National Independent Party’s manifesto: Directly elected PM

KATHMANDU, Nov 3: The National Independent Party on Thursday released its manifesto for the House of Representatives and provincial assembly elections.

It is said that all rights of the subjects included in the manifesto are vested in the Nepali people and that the party will thank other political parties if they take the programs included in the manifesto. 

The National Independent Party has emphasized constitutional socialism with respect for individual freedom and human rights through inclusive democracy that is accountable to the people and direct people's participation. The party has proposed that a Nepali citizen by descent who has not joined any political party or received political benefits for at least 10 years should be the president.

Similarly, it is mentioned in the manifesto released by the party on Thursday that the president will be elected from a large electoral body consisting of the ward chairmen and the federal parliament.

As mentioned in the manifesto, it is said that there will be an ex-officio Vice President as the Speaker of the National Assembly, and a Prime Minister and a chief ministers directly elected by the people. The State Council, National Assembly and Constitutional Council are also included in the form of government.

Ravi Lamichhane, chairman of the National Independent Party, said that the people's general demands and wishes have been included in the manifesto. He said that he succeeded in expanding the party to 62 districts in a short period of time. He said that he will merge his party with the one who can end the country's chaos.
