KATHMANDU, Aug 22: The National Assembly has unanimously endorsed the Nepal Bar Council (Second Amendment) Bill, 2081.
During today’s session, the proposal to consider the bill, presented by Minister for Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs, Ajay Kumar Chaurasiya, was unanimously accepted by the Assembly.

In the discussion, MPs Madankumari Shah (Garima), Kiran Babu Shrestha, Maya Prasad Sharma, Bishnu Kumari Sapkota, Krishna Prasad Adhikari, Tulsakumari Dahal, and Sumitra BC emphasized the need for a thorough study and review of the bill, which aims to modernize the existing law.
Responding to the concerns raised, Minister Chaurasiya clarified that the bill includes the establishment of a Nepal Law Institute, an issue frequently highlighted by legal professionals. He urged all MPs to contribute to enhancing the proposed legislation.
National Assembly Speaker Narayan Prasad Dahal informed members that they could submit any proposed amendments to the bill in the Bills Section of the National Assembly.
