NASA defeated Gurukul 88-81 in the second semifinal played at the National Sports Council covered hall on Tuesday. Earlier, White House had defeated Golden Gate 61-54 in the first semifinal on Monday.[brek]
Joel scored 33 points to seal victory for NASA in the competitive semifinal on Tuesday. NASA took a 20-16 lead in the first quarter but remained behind in the second quarter, where Gurukul scored 27 points against NASA´s 17. However, NASA bounced back in the last two quarters with the scores of 23-14 and 28-24 to secure berth in the final.
Meanwhile, Prime set up a title clash with Gurukul in the women´s section. Prime beat White House 34-24 in the second semifinal played at the court of host Morgan International College on Tuesday. Earlier, Gurukul had ousted Golden Gate 40-11 on Monday to reach the final.
Sneha Shrestha scored 11 points in Prime´s victory. White House took the first quarter 6-4 but Prime dominated the remaining three quarters. Prime took the second quarter 9-7 to level the scores at 13-13 and then won the final two quarters as well with the scores of 14-7 and 7-4 to book its place in the final.
Both the finals of the championship will be played on Thursday.+
