KATHMANDU, Feb 25: The Narayanghat-Mugling road section will remain open continuously starting today. The previously enforced daily four-hour closure for bridge construction and wall cutting on this section of the road has been lifted.
Chief District Officer of Chitwan Bhupendra Thapa said that since the time demanded by the construction company has expired, the work will be done without blocking the road from today.
Anak Construction sought the deadline for the third time. The extended deadline expired on Saturday, February 24. He said that since the work of cutting the wall for the construction of the bridge has reached its final stage, there is no need to stop the traffic for further work.
According to Kedar Nepal, head of Nagdhunga-Mugling road project west section (Narayanghat-Mugling), the road was closed for the third time for 21 days since December 23, 2023.
Four of the 19 bridges on the road were constructed four years ago. The remaining 15 bridges were contracted simultaneously. The construction of the bridge started on March 23, 2020.
