“The flight to Jumla will take off from Kathmandu at 7 am on Wednesdays, while the flight to Kathmandu will leave Jumla airstrip at 12:25 pm on Thursdays,” Sadananda Acharya of NAC´s Jumla Office told Republica.[break]
NAC has fixed one-way fare on the route at Rs 8,805.
Locals, however, say the fare is expensive than the fare on Jumla-Nepalgunj-Kathmandu route offered by private carriers.
Acharya said NAC is providing 25 percent discount on the fare to students of community schools and colleges having affiliation of Tribhuvan University.
Meanwhile, private carriers like Goma Air, Sita Air, Tara Air and Makalu Air are operating 35 additional flights to Jumla from Surkhet and Nepalgunj during the Dashain festival.
NAC had stopped scheduled flights on Kathmandu-Jumla in 1991. The national flag carriers used to fly two times a week on the route.
Though some private carriers operated direct flights between Jumla and Kathmandu after NAC stopped flying on the route, the service was not regular.
