KATHMANDU, Sept 18: Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) on Sunday transported its 9N-AKX aircraft to Israel for essential maintenance. This decision was prompted by the urgent need for repairs in view of the upcoming Dashain and Tihar festivals.
After an inordinate delay, the Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) Company finally allocated a slot for the engine replacement, which is vital for the aircraft's operation. Consequently, the NAC made the decision to dispatch the aircraft to Israel at 23:30 PM on September 17.

As per the maintenance schedule, the NAC has announced that the aircraft will return to Kathmandu on September 22 following the engine modifications conducted in Israel.
According to the NAC, it would like to address recent reports in various media outlets concerning the grounding of the 9N-AKX aircraft. As aircraft are subject to occasional issues in various components, conducting regular maintenance within prescribed standards is a common practice to ensure their safe operation.
