KATHMANDU, March 28: Chairperson of the National Assembly Ganesh Prasad Timilsina has said that he would play a role to develop National Assembly as a reliable forum for opposition parties so that they could express their feelings and concerns.
At an interaction program with media persons at Singha Durbar on Wednesday, he expressed the commitment to pay attention to all concerns of opposition while running National Assembly business.
He said the NA would carry out activities in a competitive manner to give a good result as House of Representatives and NA have the same position and it was not necessary to wait for the House of Representative in every activity.
Saying the NA would strongly raise the problems of local level and Provincial Assembly to be responsible towards the voters, NA Chairperson Timilsina said that laws would be formulated soon as many activities of local-level and provincial assembly have been obstructed in absence of laws.
He said, "News regarding the NA activities should be disseminated in order to make the people known about the voices of people's representatives. The possible initiative will be taken to make NA media-friendly."
