KATHMANDU, Sept 27: The National Assembly (NA) has endorsed two ordinances related to finance on Monday.
The Financial Ordinance, 2021 and the Ordinance on Raising Public Debt have been endorsed amid protests by the lawmakers representing the main opposition party, CPN-UML.
Lawmakers belonging to the UML had started obstructing the session as soon as the meeting started. However, NA Chair Ganesh Timilsina continued discussion on the ordinances.
Finance Minister Janardan Sharma had tabled the ordinance in the upper house of the federal parliament even as the lawmakers belonging to the main opposition party tried to obstruct him from tabling the ordinance. The ordinance was endorsed by a majority of members through voice votes.
