Mystery disease affects SLC examinees

KHOTANG, March 29: Five dozens of examinees and invigilators fell ill during the SLC examination at a school in Okhaldhunga on Monday.



Students appearing in examination at Poolmati Secondary School of Khijifalate complained of dizziness, vomiting and headache, according to Kul Prasad Khatiwada, the chief at the exam center.



He added that 11 students and four teachers were seriously ill due to unknown disease.



The students could not write the answers, according to principal Ganga Ram Sunuwar.



The ill students and teachers received treatment at a local health post.



According to District Public Health Office, paramedics from neighboring villages had been deployed to the village.



A total of 267 students are appearing in the examination at the center.
