‘Mt Everest Fashion Runway’, a fashion show set a new world record — ‘The Highest Altitude Fashion Runway’, organized at the altitude of 5,644 meters above the sea level. The record for ‘Guinness Book of World Record’ was made on Sunday in Kala Patthar, Solukhumbu.
It featured eight Nepali, one Finish, five Italian, one Sinhalese, and a Singaporean, models. The event aimed to join hands against climate change by promoting sustainable fashion. Amid the show, participants used all Nepali, organic and biodegradable clothing line made of felt and pashmina to introduce sustainable fashion to the world.

Kasa, the organizing team of the show, took to their official Instagram on Monday and shared some photographs with caption that read: “Together, we successfully secure a place in The Guinness Book of World Record. ‘The Highest Altitude Fashion Runway’ Thank you all the team members, all the sponsors, supporters, followers, technical team, models, Makeup Artist, photographer and Nepal Tourism Board. Special thanks to all Sherpas for making our "dream comes true." The Mt Everest Fashion Runway (@themteverestfashionrunway) was held successfully on Jan 26, 2020 at Kalapatthar. Aiming to promote sustainable fashion and spread awareness about climate change, along with promoting Visit Nepal Year 2020.”
According to the organizers, a team of 48 people trekked from Lukla to Kala Patthar on January 18 to organize the show where they will be arriving in Kathmandu on January 30.
