BIRGUNJ, Jan 17: The second national convention of the Madhesi People´s Rights Forum (MPRF) that kicked off Saturday in this industrial hub of the country is all set to re-elect Upendra Yadav as party chairman. [break]
The third largest party in the ruling coalition that was on the verge of split just weeks ago is "one" again. Sources said the possibility of split has passed after the party leadership agreed to include more members in the central committee from the party dissidents.
Speaking at a press conference Saturday morning, Agriculture Minister and one of the MPRF leaders J P Gupta said the party members no longer have any difference. Party chief and Foreign Minister Yadav and other party leaders and ministers including Bijaya Gachchhadar and Renu Yadav too sound optimistic about the party remaining united.
Many MPRF lawmakers, who until a few days ago, had been demanding that four ministers from the party should to step down from the government, said differences in the party had been buried "for now". "Some outstanding issues will be resolved by the new central committee (to be elected by the convention that will conclude Monday)," said Atma Ram Sah, an MPRF lawmaker.
MPRF chief Yadav told journalists Saturday morning that the convention will make important social, economic and political decisions.

A representative of the Chinese Communist Party, while wishing the success of the convention, told the opening session of the meet that his party was ready to establish ties with MPRF. There are international representatives from India as well as Bangladesh.
