KATHMANDU, Feb 19: Nepali Congress (NC) central member and MP Chandra Bhandari, who was injured in the gas explosion, is said to be out of danger.

According to Nepali Congress youth leader and businessman Yograj Kandel, who was with him in Mumbai, his health is gradually improving and now he is out of danger.

Kandel, who is constantly giving updates on Bhandari’s health condition, has written on social media, “I am feeling very happy at this time, respected Bhandari is safe. After I reached the hospital at 10PM, Dr Prasant Maharana said that the health condition of Bhandar was normal. I asked if he was conscious. Three nurses came out of Chandra Dai's cabin. Dr Prasant who is in front of me, asked the nurses if Bhandari was awake. The nurses replied yes. Dr Prasant told me to meet Bhandari if I wanted and I went inside. Bhandari looked at me with both eyes for a long time. It seemed as if he wanted to do a lot of things, trying to raise his hands, trying to raise his head. I told Bhandari that he is fine. Dr Prasant said there is no need to worry. Bhandari is safe and everyone is requested to be calm. “

Kandel has also given an update that Dr Mukesh Misraj's team observed Bhandari at around 8am and counseling was done at around 9am.

Chandra Bhandari and his mother Harikala Bhandari were injured when the house caught fire due to a gas leak on Wednesday night. His mother passed away during treatment in Kritipur Burn Hospital. Bhandari, who suffered around 25 percent burns, is being treated at National Burns Centre in Mumbai.
