DARCHULA, July 15: A suspension bridge connecting Nepal and India in Mahakali Municipality-9 in Darchula district has suffered damages resulting in difficulties in cross-border movement of people.
The bridge connects Dattu area of Mahakali Municipality to Baluwakot of Uttarakhand in India.

The District Administration Office, Darchula, has asked locals not to travel through the bridge as a cable of the suspension has snapped.
Issuing a statement on Friday, the District Administration Office urged people to walk over the bridge only after carrying out technical tests. "A cable of the bridge on the Indian side has broken. We have asked the people to travel only after the maintenance jobs," Assistant Chief District Officer Pradip Singh Dhami said.
Hundreds of people from Nepal and India travel via this point every day.
A large number of Nepalis from Mahakali, Malikarjun, Lekam and Shailya Shikhar visit the Indian markets in Baluwakot every day to buy daily essentials.
