Mountaineer Chhurim feted

KATHMANDU, March 27: Mountaineer Chhurim Sherpa, who set a world record by scaling the highest peak in the world Mount Everest or Sagarmatha twice in a week, was honoured amidst a ceremony here on Wednesday.



The programme was organised by the Neupane Bandhu Society. Chhurim who was born at Ghunsa-1 of Taplejung scaled the Sagarmatha on May 12 and 19, last year.



Minister for Law, Justice, Federal Affairs, Labour and Employment Hari Prasad Neupane honoured mountaineer Chhurim.



On the occasion, the society felicitated Minister Neupane on his appointment to the post of minister of the Government of Nepal.



Society Chairman Baman Prasad Neupane said bureaucracy now has a challenge of completing the new responsibility by taking it as an opportunity.
