CHITWAN, July 25: A motorcyclist died after being hit by a Bolero jeep in Chitwan.
The accident occurred at around 12:30 am along the East-West Highway at Ratnanagar-3, when the jeep (Province 2-02-001 Cha 0510), carrying vegetables from Khairahani toward Tandi, hit a motorcycle (Ba Pra 06-001 Pa 3509) coming from the opposite direction.

The deceased has been identified as 35-year-old Mukunda Kandel of Kalika Municipality-2.
According to Rabindra Khanal, Spokesperson at the District Police Office, Chitwan, the jeep was overtaking a bus heading from Janakpur to Kathmandu when it struck the motorcycle.
Kandel, who was critically injured in the collision, was rushed to Bharatpur Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead at around 1:15 am.
Police have impounded the jeep and taken the driver into custody for further investigation.
