SINDHUPALCHOWK, Nov 20: A motorcyclist died on the spot in a road accident at the Balefi-Sukute section along the Araniko highway on Saturday.

The deceased has been identified as Ek Bahadur Shrestha of Barhabise, according to the police. The accident took place after a truck (Ba 5 Kha 4282) heading toward Barhabise from Kathmandu hit a motorcycle (Ba 31 Pa 584) coming from the opposite direction. 

Similarly, a pillion rider Ashish Shrestha was injured in the accident. He has been taken to Dhulikhel for treatment. 

Police have arrested the driver and impounded the vehicle. Information officer at the District Police Office, Dashya Kumar Basnet shared that further investigation into the case was underway.
