Month- long Aadinath fair kicks off in Chobhar

KATHMANDU, Oct 26: A month-long Aadinath religious fair has kicked off from today at Chobhar to the south of downtown Kathmandu. The fair begins from today, the full moon day of tye Nepali month Ashwin as per the lunar calendar. It will be conclude on the full moon day of the month of Kartik.

The Aadinath temple has the combined idol of Lord Shiva and goddess Parbati, it is known as Ardhanarishwar.The priest of the temple Saroj Shakya shared that the people throng the temple during this period in the belief skin and other disease are cured.

Mainly, Hindu and Buddhist followers throng the temple. The Hindus worship the Aadinath as a form of their god Shiva and goddess Shakti while the Buddhists as the Lokeshwar. RSS
