KATHMANDU, August 29: A total of 3,180 houses have been inundated due to floods during the current monsoon season.
According to the data maintained by the Nepal Police, 153 cowsheds, 60 bridges, eight schools and 14 government offices including 900 houses were damaged due to the landslide. A total of 1,087 animals also perished due to flood and landslide since mid-June.
During the period, 5,924 people from 1,209 households were displaced in 1,130 incidents of disaster, said Nepal Police Spokesperson Senior Superintendent of Police Basant Kunwar.

Meanwhile, as many as 91 people were killed in floods and landslides in different parts of the country due to incessant rains since the onset of monsoon this year, according to police. The deceased include 46 men, 23 women, 10 boys and 12 girls.
Floods and inundation have injured 116 people during the period. Forty-four people have gone missing in the floods. The search for the missing continues. According to the SSP Kunwar, 1,275 people affected by the disaster have been rescued from various parts of the country.
