The project funded by Asian Development Bank (ADB) is focused on laying optical fiber connection between Nepal, India, Bangladesh and Bhutan. Sushil Ojha, director of the project and joint-secretary of the ministry signed the agreement at a program at the ministry on Wednesday.[break]
As per the agreement I-Craft will open 30 community e-centers in rural areas and lay optical fiber in 170 km connecting Banepa and Bardibas. The project targets to set up cross-border connectivity with a backbone bandwidth of 10 Gbps and to make rural communities ICT enabled.
“As we have signed the agreement, the implementation will begin soon,” Ojha said.
