MoIC bids adieu to secretary Shrestha

KATHMANDU, Aug. 5: The Ministry of Information and Communications (MoIC) bade farewell to Secretary Abanindra Kumar Shrestha, who had resigned from his post few days ago, amidst a programme at the Ministry, on Sunday.



Secretary Shrestha had resigned from his post few days back to be effective from tomorrow, citing dissatisfaction over the appointment of new chief secretary.[break]



The government had accepted his resignation later. Shrestha has served in the civil service for around 33 years and was retiring after two months due to age-limit.



Ministry´s Joint Secretary Sushil Kumar Ojha and senior officials of Ministry´s subordinate bodies including the Rastriya Samachar Samiti, Nepal Television, Radio Nepal, Gorkhapatra Sansthan and Nepal Telecom were also present on the occasion.



Ministry´s Officiating Secretary Laxman Kumar Pokhrel wished for successful retired life for Secretary Shrestha.



Also speaking on the occasion, Secretary Shrestha pointed out the need of drastic improvement in the civil service."The civil service in Nepal has yet to win the people´s trust and collective efforts are a must to maintain its image," he added.



He expressed gratitude to all those employees who had cooperated with him during his term of office at the Ministry
