MoFA announces PM Oli's visits to Vietnam, Cambodia

KATHMANDU, May 7: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is visiting Vietnam and Cambodia from May 9 to 15, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said here on Tuesday.

At the invitation of the Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, Nguyen Xuan Phuc and the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, Hun Sen, PM Oli is paying an official visit to Vietnam on May 9-13 and to Cambodia on May 13-15.

During the visit, the Prime Minister is scheduled to hold delegation level bilateral talks with his Vietnamese counterpart Phuc.  He will also meet with the President of the National Assembly. The Prime Minister of Viet Nam will host an official dinner in honor of the Prime Minister of Nepal and his delegation.

During his visit to Vietnam, the prime minister will address the International Day of Vesak in Ha Nam Province in Vietnam. He will also address the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and Nepal-Vietnam Business Forum in Ha Noi. 

During the visit, the two countries will sign some agreements and memorandum of understandings to further promote bilateral relations.

Similarly, during the visit to Cambodia, the Oli will hold delegation level bilateral talks with his Cambodian counterpart Hun Sen. Following the official talks, the Cambodian Prime Minister will host an official dinner in honor of Oli and his delegation. He will also meet with the President of the National Assembly and the President of the Senate. He will also address the business meeting in Phnom Penh.

The members in the delegation of the prime minister include Minister Foreign Affairs Pradeep Kumar Gyawali, Chief Advisor and Foreign Affairs Advisor to the Prime Minister Bishnu Rimal Members of the Parliament, high-ranking government officials, elected representatives from local bodies as well as representatives of private sector and media persons.

Prime Minister Oli will return home on May 15.
