PARBAT, Oct 10: The Modibedi- Mudikuwa road section in Parbat has opened for traffic. 


The road remained blocked since last three months due to landslides triggered by the monsoon rains. The road came into operation since Wednesday morning. 


Mayor of Phalebas Municipality, Gangadhar Tiwari, said the road has been put into operation targeting Dashain, the great festival of Nepali Hindus.

As a result, passenger vehicles from Kushma to Phalebas, Mahashila, Bihadi, Paiyu Rural Municipalities of Parbat have benefitted. 


The Phalebas-Armadi section of Kaligandaki highway has not been completed even after seven years due to the negligence of the contractor. Although the section from Modibeni to Mudukkuwa is operational, it remains blocked from Armadi to Modibeni.


Kaligandaki Corridor Project Office Palpa said that due to the lack of work on that section on time the bids for black topping work were not even called and the budget is not guaranteed in the current Fiscal Year (FY).
