“MCC will be passed through the parliament for sure. PM Oli himself has already made it clear that the MCC will soon be approved. The process has already begun in this connection," he said.

Minister Baskota opined that the MCC deal proposed by the United States is not against China and Belt and Road Initiative initiated by China is not against the United States.

Baskota who is also a leader of the ruling Nepal Communist Party, said the party's ongoing central committee meeting would give a green signal to MCC.

"I don't know about the Indo Pacific Strategy initiated by the United States. I want to make it clear that Nepal will not be part of any military alliance," he said.
