The MJF-Nepal has decided to go for election to the Constituent Assembly (CA) with different programmes including election campaign, preparation of manifesto and selection of candidates.
A central committee meeting of the party held from August 30-September 2 decided to go for election with all power for guaranteeing federalism with national identity, inclusive democratic republic and rule of law. [break]
At a news conference organised here today, Spokesperson for the party, Ratneshwor Lal Kayastha, said that they would go for election with full strength by adopting norms and values including secularism, establishment of autonomous Madhes province along with the right to self-decision, control of corruption, end of discrimination and rights for equality.
The central committee meeting has also determined criteria for the election candidates and formed a committee for an electoral alliance.
Kayastha said that the party would select names of qualified and capable candidates for the upcoming election. In the first CA election, the party had won 31 seats from the direct system, 21 seats from the proportional representation system and one nominated member.
The party is to give priority to an electoral alliance with the political parties having similar objectives and working for the rights of Madhesi, indigenous nationalities, dalits and suppressed community, party senior leader Bharat Bimal Yadav said. The party has already constituted a taskforce comprising Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav, Ratneswhwor Kayastha, Shrawan Kumar Agrawal and Amresh Narayan Jha to carry out necessary works to that end. Yadav(Bharat Bimal) is the convenor of the taskforce.
The party is in the mood of filing its candidacy from at least 40 constituencies from Kathmandu to Mugu, Bharat Bimal said. The party has constituted the election manifesto draft committee under the convenorship of secretary Kayastha.
Leader Yadav has been assigned to make necessary arrangements for the election campaign. Similarly, different leaders including Sanjay Singh, Shailendra Prasad Shaha, Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav, Abhishek Prasad Yadav and Mo. Istiyak Rai have been assigned for the election publicity campaign at the regional level.
According to a press statement issued by the party, the meeting has nominated Lalit Bahadur Thapa as central advisor, Sitaram Saha and Komal Prasad Yadav as regional committee members and Shyam Prasad Mandal as the Birat area member
