Mixed results for Nepal in chess

KATHMANDU, May 6: Nepali chess players produced mixed results at the eighth round of the ongoing Mumbai Mayor´s Cup International Chess Tournament.



Four Nepali players won their respective fixtures while one played a draw. Niraj Niraula, Prakash Nepal, Prem Krishna Maharjan and Rijendra Rajbhandari won their matches. FIDE master Manish Hamal was defeated at the hands of India´s Shyam Nikhil. Dipak Mahrjan was defeated by Devari Patnagar of India. Purushottam Chaulagain was held to draw by a player rated below him.
