"We have been fighting for the same cause for the last three years and coincidentally, at present, I am a member of the Constituent Assembly´s thematic committee that is entrusted with delineating the states in the federal system to be adopted in the new constitution. So we must not miss this opportunity," Jha said while addressing a function organized by Mithila Natyakala Parishad in Janakpur on Saturday.
He argued the Mithila region meets several qualities -- including geographic, cultural, population, ethnic and linguistic -- to become an autonomous state.
He also claimed that the Mithila region has largest population among those proposed provinces in the CA state restructuring committee.
"However, there should be no excuse to anyone to instigate any sort of violent activities and disturb racial harmony in the name of autonomous state," he clarified.
