TAPLEJUNG, May 9: An elderly man who was missing while on his way to the Pathibhara Temple in Taplejung district has been found dead.
Lok Prasad Parajuli, 60, of Arjundhara Municipality-5 of Jhapa was found dead on Tuesday.

Kushram Karki, spokesperson for the District Police Office, Taplejung, shared that they received information that the body was in the forest 5 kilometers north of Upper Fedi. A team led by Karki was sent to the area for a detailed investigation of the incident. Police Inspector Karki said that Parajuli’s body was actually found around 5 kilometers north of the police station in the Pathibhara area, thus the exact location is unclear.
Parajuli stayed in a hotel in the upper foothills of Pathibhara with his wife, son, daughter-in-law, granddaughter among other relatives on May 2. In the morning of May 3, his relatives set off for the temple on foot around 3AM. They sent him off alone with a porter to Pathibhara as he was having difficulties walking.
Later, Parajuli stepped away from the porter in order to urinate. When he did not return, the porter reported the situation to the local police station. Since then, the police had been on the lookout for the missing man.
Late Parajuli’s relatives reported that the deceased had mental problems.
