Relatives vandalize hostel and set fire to school

BIRENDRANAGAR, Sept 30: A student was found hanging in the hostel of Usha Bal Vatika Secondary School, located in front of Birendranagar Municipality-6 Ghanta Ghar in Surkhet. 

Salam Pulami Magar, an eight-year old student studying in Grade 2, was found hanging from a double-decker bed.

The relatives of the child hailing from Chamunda Bindrasaini Municipality-1 of Dailekh arrived on the scene and surrounded the hostel saying that the child's death was suspicious. They have not allowed the body to be removed from there. 

DSP Lakshman Shahi at the District Police Office, Surkhet said that the body could not be taken for post-mortem due to relative’s obstruction in removing the mortal remains.

The premises of Usha school became tense after the relatives vandalized outer parts of the hostel and set fire to the school. Police have been deployed in the school premises.

The school has not yet given any response on this matter.
