KATHMANDU, April 6: Minister for Forest and Environment Shakti Bahadur Basnet has urged the Australian government to make arrangements for providing visa to Nepali students going to Australia from Nepal itself.
The Minister said this during a meeting with the Australian ambassador Peter Budd when he latter paid a courtesy call on him at the Ministry of Forest and Environment on Thursday.
At present Nepali students have to go to New Delhi, India for processing for obtaining Australian visa.
In the meeting, Minister Basnet mentioned about Australia's cooperation in the promotion of community forestry in Nepal since two decades, he hoped for the same in the coming days as well.
Ambassador Budd said that the Australian government wanted to invest in the hydropower, environment and water supply sector in Nepal.(RSS)
