KATHMANDU, July 16: Minister for Education, Science, and Technology, Girirajmani Pokharel, has called the world community to visit Nepal.
Addressing a seminar on 'Nepal's tourism, art and culture' organized in New York in order to make Visit Nepal -2020 a success, Minister Pokharel urged the world community to visit Nepal reasoning that it is one of the best tourist destinations in the world. The seminar was organized by Consulate General of Nepal and Nepal-America Foundation where the Nepal Tourism Board was the co-organiser.
On the occasion, he said that Nepal, with the birthplace of Gautam Buddha and the world's highest peak Mt Everest, has a unique identity in the world. The Education Minister also expressed commitment that the government of Nepal was ready to provide service and security to the tourists visiting Nepal and urged all to visit the beautiful country.
Saying Nepal is a naturally and culturally rich country, he reminded that the Nepal government has set a target to bring in two million tourists in the Visit Year. Minister Pokharel further said that the government was carrying out activities with priority for tourism development and promotion, adding it was moving ahead with the 'Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali' campaign. According to him, the school curriculum in Nepal had also incorporated good humanitarian values. Minister Pokharel left here for the US a few days ago to take part in 'High-Level Political Forum' related to sustainable development goals organized by UNESCO in New York.
