KATHMANDU, March 30: Minister for General Administration Lal Babu Pandit today inspected the Bagmati Zonal Office of Transport Management at Ekantakuna in Lalitpur.

Inspecting the office, Minister Pandit asked the officials to correspond with the General Administration Ministry about the reforms to take into account by the Ministry.

He also instructed the officials to consider changing the office system for better service delivery.

"Avail the services of the office to the public bearing in mind the convenience of the public, make the dress code mandatory to the staffers and curb irregularities and corruption," Minister Pandit directed the officials.

Chief at the office Rajesh Poudel shared that rendering of the services was affected in lack of better physical infrastructures at the office.

Chief Poudel spoke of the need to install high-tech software in lieu of the existing one as the software was not upto the mark to read the vehicles for the actual tax they are entitled to.

He also underscored the need for the higher level body to take special initiatives to remove the 'middle men' so as to curb the irregularities and anomalies prevailing in the office. RSS
