KATHMANDU, Sept 14: Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security Gokarna Bista has urged all the private schools in the country to enlist in the contribution-based social security scheme by October 17.
At a program organised by the Private and Boarding Schools' Organisation Nepal (PABSON) Kathmandu here on Saturday, Minister Bista explained that the government has introduced the scheme offering security to the teachers, staffers of the private and community schools alike.

Stating that glitches could be experienced in the nascent stage of implementing any new program, he referred that the similar schemes have been enforced in developed countries in Europe and the USA, and it would eventually secure the welfare of elderly citizens.
He urged the private schools' proprietors to implement the scheme seriously as it aims to enhance productivity and ensure healthy growth of the school sector.
On the occasion, PABSON Kathmandu chapter honoured 33 students from 24 private schools securing GPA 4 in the last SEE school. Also feted in the program were 65 teachers for their long-standing services.
