KATHMANDU, Aug 28: Mini excavators needed to rescue citizens trapped inside a tunnel following the Bhotekoshi flood have been found, Home Minister Sudan Gurung said.
Gurung made the announcement in a Facebook post, thanking everyone who provided information, responded promptly and helped arrange the excavators.

“After we needed additional mini excavators, your information, readiness and support proved invaluable. With your help, we have now found the excavators we needed. If every citizen of the country comes together in this way, we can overcome any challenge,” he said.
Earlier, Gurung had said the citizens trapped inside the tunnel needed to be rescued immediately using resources available in Nepal, and that mini excavators were required for the operation.
He had urged anyone who could provide the machines or had information about their availability to contact the authorities immediately.
