MUSTANG, Oct 30: The famed Mustangi apples worth millions have been supplied from the trans-Himalayan district of Mustang for this festive season.
From mid September to end of October, apples worth Rs 23 million were sold, according to the District Agriculture Development Office (DADO).
Around Rs 80 million worth of additional apples will be supplied, DADO Planning Officer, Tapta Bahadur Gurung said. "Last year 4,700 metric tons of apples were produced in Mustang and this year we expect the production to hover around 4,400 metric tons," Gurung added. He added further that 3,200 metric tons have already been supplied from the district till date.
The Mustangi apple – famous for its sumptuous taste – is supplied to Pokhara, Kathmandu and other major cities of Nepal. RSS
