BIRGUNJ, Sept 17: A fire at Malaku Soap and Chemical Industries at Birgunj-Patlaiya Industrial Corridor was brought into control after around two and half hours.
The fire, which started at around 7:30 AM has charred the factory and its raw materials, according to District Police Office. Four fire brigades, the Nepal Army, Armed Police Force, Nepal Police and workers of the factory had come together to douse the fire.
The fire spread quickly after it burned oil and chemicals that are used to make a soap. Primary assessment suggests that the fire has caused a loss of around Rs. 5 crore.
